American-Danish Capabilities within Energy Efficiency and “Green Buildings”
On November 17th, American Danish Business Council held an event showcasing Danish proficiencies with the Green Building sector. Per Lyse Rasmussen and Lars Juul Hansen organized the event. The following Danish companies presented their solutions in the afternoon session to an audience from the Pentagon and other US Government entities: Danfoss, Grundfos, Cowi, Nilan, Electronic Housekeeper and Leif Hansen inc.

The Road to Copenhagen: Telling the Danish Story
With the International Climate Conference in Copenhagen is only a few days away, expectations of reaching a global agreement to limit carbon emissions are rising. An agreement will, however say little about how to effectively achieve these reductions. In this regard, Denmark has useful experience to offer. The “Danish Story” on achieving energy independence and reducing carbon emissions while maintaining economic growth and creating new innovations, opportunities and jobs was the theme for an event this week in Congress.

Ambassador Petersen visits VELUX America in Greenwood, South Carolina
Ambassador Petersen and Pelle Lind Bournonville, the Trade Council of Denmark’s US Trade Counsellor on Construction, Civil Engineering & Architecture, visited the VELUX Group’s manufacturing facility in Greenwood November 17th. Among the participants from Velux Group were CEO, Jørgen Tang-Jensen, and COO, David P. Meyer.

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) held its eight annual policy conference (Phase II) in Washington last week on November 19th and 20th. The keynote speaker was Carol Browner, Director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy.
